1.
rising wide-eyed before the light quiet as silence wind touch my neck stagger my breath still as a moment i'll wait patiently cause the world is asleep dreaming pretty things oh wonderful feeling of being alive day by day ---- how much blood we gonna spill to learn value of a life I know I ain't worth all that much, but ain't no reason why I should die nor anyone else from the mouth of a gun or a club love never hurt no one how did all our fears steer us wrong stop and see the beauty in the twinkle of everyone's eye we all need help but we're afraid to ask for it at least that's what i think is happening and i'm up here preaching though i don't really practice acting as if life only had one winner
2.
when you left snowing started inside forming on my window, near to my feet i needed your heat here, cuddled inside an ocean of my blankets, deep in the night in january stains of your sweet kiss, sailing around seas upon my skin like tracks in the snow oh like the turning of a new leaf, new moon, new year all in this night in january
3.
walk when the dew drops moon has locked the sea away for early morning to find clinging words on my tongue life has sung another day to lift these eyes to the sky drink up this fire, my darling drink up this fire
4.
love, with a voice soft as springtime your eyes round like moon coins you, you pulled me like the tide close, close enough to hear heartbeats skipping stones through your breathing warm, warm against my cheek then we danced like stars in the night and let our limbs entwine soon we left our bodies behind they hardened with sunshine now, i'm a man hollow-hearted give a damn that the rust set in between my bone but i will bleed for your voice and molt my skin make me human troubled by gray sky the moon seems lost in your eyes then we danced like stars in the night and let our limbs entwine soon we left our bodies behind they hardened with sunshine
5.
overwhelm me with patience staying late till we're wasted stubborn with the bottle talk whatever we want to till the morning spoken softly with curled lips mind ahead of my word spit stumbling to think straight with the light hitting your face like it meant to as the world keeps turning around learning about how love is found lead me leaping through exhales seeing ripples out your hair those eyes to find strength in overcome with elation bound up in blossoms of blue as the world keeps turning around learning about how love is found tangled with those words in my mouth little ghosts of us leak out tailored to this light
6.
suddenly, i'm seeing in circles making my head spin out changing me right under the surface am i still all myself? maybe, i'm everything and all that is all around maybe

about

as we move through the turning of a new year, I am sharing some tracks recorded almost a full year ago from a little cabin in Ellenville NY. at that point, we had endured the first year of isolation and the pandemic. i was finalizing the finishing touches to the album, and due to the cancellation of my tour, had not been playing many of the songs regularly, but had listened to the album versions so many times that they’d almost lost their meaning. many of them were written prior to the pandemic, but thinking about the concept of memory and documentation of memory, of the fixed kind, it seemed like time to revisit these songs in the midst of our collective situation. playing them again brought back a certain nostalgia of the world pre-pandemic, but also surfaced feelings from when they were created. these songs were all created within their own isolation; the isolation of the songwriter.

****also if you buy the whole album, there are two unreleased bonus tracks included******
